You know that big elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about but everyone knows is there?
The conversations that are uncomfortable, awkward and even downright scary. The ones everyone tries to avoid.
What about you? Do you keep avoiding them too?
Conversations about:
*Negotiating salary
*Giving critical feedback
*Receiving critical feedback
*Conflicts with a coworker
*Letting someone go
Has anything gotten better by avoiding them?
Of course not, because avoiding something that needs to be addressed doesn't make it go away. In fact, it only makes it worse. And it will only continue getting worse until you finally decide to do something about it.
How do I know? Because this was my M.O. for YEARS. I was afraid of confrontation and avoided it at all costs. And it cost me a lot.
-Decreased salary
-Damaged workplace relationships
-Low self-esteem
-Ineffective leadership
-Constant stress and worrry
I promise you, it does not have to be this way!
